| Cellular Jail |
|
It stands as a symbol of colonial oppression, cruelty and untold suffering. It was here that hundreds of freedom fighters whose names are engraved on the walls of its watchtower were condemned. The prison fans out in seven wings, stands three storey high and has a total of 698 cells. A visit to the jail gives an indication of the horrors of imprisonment during the freedom movement. The saga of heroic freedom struggle is brought alive in a moving sound and light show held daily inside the jail compound.

The museum houses some tools and other objects of the four Andaman Negrito tribes namely, the Thelarawas, the Sentinelese, the Great Andamanese and the Onges, besides those of two Mongoloid tribes of Nicobar - the Nicobarese and the Shompens.

The Marine Museum, also called Samudrika, is an exciting site in Port Blair. It has a huge collection of corals, shells and about 350 species of marine life. It also includes artifacts of the tribal people. The museum is divided into five sections.

| Cottage Industries Emporium |

The Cottage Industries Emporium is a storehouse of an array of artifacts made of pearl, seashells and local wood products. There is also a unique collection of small Nicobari canoes, palm mats and furniture. The Khadi Gramodyog Emporium close by is also worth a visit.

| Chatham Saw Mill |

The Chatham Saw Mill, one of the oldest and largest mills in Asia which is built on a tiny island, is connected to Port Blair by a bridge. It is a storehouse of many varieties of timber such as Padauk, Gurjan, Marble and Satin Wood. forest museum is also situated in Chatham. The museum offers a look at forest activities and displays beautiful decorative pieces made of Padauk, Marble, Peauma, Gurjan and Satin Wood.

| Cobryn's Cove |

It is a coconut-palm-fringed beach that is located 7 km away from the town. It is ideal for swimming, surfing and sunbathing. Water sports, changing rooms, a restaurant and bar facilities are available. |

Is located at the southern tip of the South Andaman Islands, and is also known as Bird Rock. It boasts of an enchanting beach, green hills and a narrow creek that is shaded by mangrove trees. The corals and the marine life, coupled with romantic sunsets, are a must see. |

| Ross Island |

A short boat ride away from Phoneix Bay Jetty, Ross Island is the seat of the British administration. The important ruins here include a church, cemetery, and the chief commissioner's residence. The island is ideal for swimming and is also a birdwatcher's paradise. |

Close to Port Blair, the island earlier was an old jail where the British used to harbour convicts. The island also has dungeons and a natural amphitheatre. You can take a half day Harbour cruise to Viper Island. During the cruise, you will pass the naval floating dry dock, the only one of its kind in India. |

| Havelock Island |
|
Take a trip to Havelock Island, "the island campers' paradise." Havelock is ideal for nature lovers, island campers and offshore-adventure aficionados. Take the 3-hour-long journey by boat from Phoenix Bay Jetty, Port Blair, after which a bus will take you to Radhanagar Beach. The cozy camping tents set amidst dense forests, the long stretches of golden sand and the hypnotic blue-green sea make Radhanagar Beach a dream destination.

Located about 50 km from Port Blair, the island is part of the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park (also known as Wandoor Marine National Park). It has a beautiful beach with canopies and dense bushes. The underwater marine life is fantastic. The clean water offers sharp reflections of the corals and glimpses of marine life. Jolly Buoy Island is an ideal place for scuba diving and snorkelling. It is accessible by boats from Wandoor, which is about 30 km by road from Port Blair.

| Wandoor Marine Park |

Around 15 beautiful islands, creeks and open sea encompass an area of 280 sq. km, constitute the Wandoor Marine National Park in the Andamans. One can watch more than 50 different varieties of corals, coloured coral reef fish, sea anemones, sharks and water snakes in the shimmering aquamarine park waters. The tropical forests, sandy beaches and clear blue waters are a feast for the eye. The sea houses the smallest zoo plankton to large sea mammals like dolphins. The Andaman wild pig, spotted deer, Andaman teal, white-bellied sea eagle, Andaman serpent eagle, kingfisher, and tern inhabit the park.
The islands inside the park provide nesting grounds for four species of marine turtles, including the Green Sea, Leather Back, Hawk Bill and Olive Ridley. The creeks inside the park are ideal for the salt-water crocodile. The water monitor lizard and sea snakes such as the banded sea snake also find their habitat here.
Wandoor, the headquarters of the Wandoor Marine National Park, is about 30 km by road from Port Blair. Boat services to the other islands in the park are available.

| Red Skin Island |

Being positioned inside the premises of the Marine National Park, the Red Skin Island in Andaman and Nicobar area boasts diverse species of corals in their natural ambience. There is plenty of scope for snorkelling. Boats are available from the rural settlement known as the Windsor Village for Red Skin Island. It takes approximately 1½ hours to reach the Red Skin Island.

| Andaman Water Sport Complex |

The complex hosts a variety of water sports including safe water sports and adventure sports. Safe water sports involve paddle boats, row boats, glass-bottom boats, aqua glides, kayaks and water cycle. Adventure sports include snorkelling and scuba diving. The complex also houses a memorial for the Battle of Aberdeen fought between the British and Andaman Aboriginals in 1859.

| Sippighat Agricultural Farm |

Located at a distance of about 14 kms from Port Blair, this government farm is dedicated to research on various kinds of agricultural products, especially spices. The farm covers a vast stretch of 80 acres of cultivated land. It is a fertile ground for coconuts, cloves, cinnamon, pepper and nutmeg. Many new varieties of plants are being grown. The farm also showcases local fertile flowers. The Research and Demonstration Farm of the Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI) is situated nearby.
The Central Agricultural Research Institute of Andaman and Nicobar Islands does researche to improve the productivity of agri-horticulture. Its main research complex is at Garacharma in Sippighat Farm.

| Baratang Island |
|
Located at a distance of 120 km from Port Blair, the island is part of the Great Andaman group in the Bay of Bengal adjoins the Andaman Sea. Middle Andaman is to its north, and South Andaman to the south. The area of this island is approximately 238 sq. km. The beautiful island has wonderful beaches, popular ones being Baludera and Roglachang. Evergreen forests, mud volcanoes, limestone caves, and mangrove filled creeks give a distinct identity to Baratang.
