Curated Culinary Experiences

Traditional Sikkim Cuisine

Try out momos or steamed dumplings filled with meat and vegetables and served with a spicy tomato based sauce. Another local delicacy is Thukpa, a hearty noodle soup made with vegetables, meat and broth. Gundruk, a fermented leafy vegetable dish that is often used as a base for curries or soups is another popular local dish. Sikkimese also love sel-roti, a deep fried sweet bread enjoyed with potato curry (aloo tarkari).
