Curated Culinary Experiences
Embark on a culinary adventure in Kalimpong
Nestled in the eastern Himalayas, Kalimpong served as a trade route between India, Tibet, and Bhutan. This strategic position facilitated the exchange of ingredients and culinary techniques and has influenced Kalimpong’s food menu. Dishes like momos and thukpa are staples of the region, and traditional foods like sel roti (sweet ring shaped bread) are popular during celebrations. Another local favourite is the buckwheat roti served with a unique curry made from potatoes and bamboo shoots. Don’t forget to try the Kalimpong cheese which is slightly acidic and a little crumbly in the centre.
