Policies

Terms and conditions

These terms apply to everyone who uses www.sinclairshotels.com, books a stay with Sinclairs Hotels Ltd ("Sinclairs", "we"), or stays at a Sinclairs hotel. By booking or using this website, you accept them.

Bookings

  • A booking is confirmed only when full payment is received and we send your confirmation or voucher. An unpaid booking, checkout or quotation is not a booking, and no room is held for it.
  • Quotations are valid for 72 hours from sending.
  • The guest who books is responsible for the accuracy of the details given and for every guest in the booking.
  • Bookings through a travel agent or another travel website are also subject to that agent's or website's terms.

Rates and taxes

  • Rates are in Indian Rupees and include GST unless stated otherwise.
  • Rates and taxes may change until your booking is paid. Once paid, your price is fixed, except where a change in government tax applies by law.
  • Offers and discounts cannot be combined unless stated.

Check-in and check-out

  • Sinclairs Burdwan, Sinclairs Darjeeling, Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong, Sinclairs Siliguri: Check-in from 12 noon; check-out by 11 am.
  • Sinclairs Retreat Dooars, Sinclairs Retreat Ooty, Sinclairs Bayview Port Blair: Check-in from 12 noon; check-out by 10 am.
  • Sinclairs Gangtok: Check-in from 2 pm; check-out by 12 noon.
  • Sinclairs Palace Retreat Udaipur: Check-in from 1 pm; check-out by 11 am.
  • Early check-in and late check-out depend on availability and may be charged. To be sure of a room on arrival before check-in time, book the previous night.

Identity documents

  • Every adult guest must show a valid government photo ID at check-in (Aadhaar, passport, driving licence or voter ID). PAN card is not accepted as ID.
  • Foreign nationals, including OCI card holders, must show a passport and valid visa. We report their stay to the authorities as Indian law requires (Form C).
  • Sinclairs Gangtok: foreign nationals need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Sikkim, issued at the Rangpo check post. A copy is required at check-in.
  • We may refuse check-in to anyone who cannot show valid ID.

Occupancy, children and extra beds

  • A room may hold no more guests than booked, up to the maximum shown for each room type when you book. Extra guests are charged.
  • Child ages and charges are shown when you book.
  • Extra bed: extra adults and children are charged as shown when you book.

Payment at the hotel

  • Charges during your stay (food, beverages, laundry and other services) are paid at the hotel by card or UPI before check-out.
  • For cash payments above ₹49,000, a signed copy of your PAN card with a declaration is required.
  • The hotel may ask for a deposit at check-in for incidentals.

Visitors

Visitors are welcome in the restaurant, bar and public areas. For the safety of all guests, visitors may not enter guest rooms without the front desk's permission.

Conduct and safety

  • Guests must not disturb other guests or act unlawfully on the premises.
  • Not allowed in rooms: cooking, open flames, candles or incense, heaters or appliances not provided by the hotel, flammable or hazardous materials, and goods for commercial use.
  • Please don't move furniture or tamper with electrical fittings. Report any fault to the front desk.
  • The hotel may refuse entry to, or ask to leave, any guest who breaks these rules, endangers others or acts unlawfully. Charges for nights already stayed remain payable.

Photography and filming

Personal photos are welcome. Professional shoots (pre-wedding, film, music video, advertising or product shoots) need the hotel's written permission in advance and may be charged.

Damage and loss

  • Guests are responsible for damage to hotel property caused by them or their visitors, and will be charged the cost of repair or replacement.
  • Please keep valuables in the in-room safe or deposit them with the front desk. The hotel is not responsible for loss of valuables left elsewhere, except where the law makes it liable.

Illness and injury

If a guest falls ill or is injured, the hotel will help arrange a doctor or hospital transfer. Medical and transport costs are paid by the guest.

Events beyond our control

We are not responsible for failing to provide a service because of events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, landslides, road closures, strikes, epidemics or government orders. If we cannot host your stay, see "If we have to cancel" in the Refund policy.

Use of this website

  • All content on this website (text, photos, logos and design) belongs to Sinclairs Hotels Ltd and may not be copied or used without written permission.
  • We try to keep information accurate, but photos are for illustration and facilities may change.
  • Links to other websites are for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or services.
  • Bookings for Sinclairs hotels are only made on www.sinclairshotels.com, through our reservations team, or through authorised travel agents and travel websites. See the Advisory alert in our Privacy policy.

Complaints

Tell the front desk or the Duty Manager during your stay so we can put it right. After your stay, write to reservations@sinclairshotels.com with your booking number. We'll reply as soon as possible.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The terms in force on the day you book apply to your booking.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the courts of Kolkata.
